Role Overview:

As the Technical Director, you will be responsible for assembling and leading a team of engineers, ensuring seamless communication across teams and departments, and playing a key role in technical product ownership. You will report to the CTO and collaborate closely with the engineering management team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the CTO to build the engineering team
• Work individually with team members to set personal and professional growth objectives.
• Enhance productivity by removing barriers and streamlining processes.
• Identify and resolve conflicts and issues within or between teams.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide honest feedback.
• Contribute to management best practices and foster a positive engineering culture.
• Promote mentoring within the engineering discipline, both personally and across teams.
• Partner with the recruiting team to expand the team and identify growth needs with team leads and management.
• Work with the CTO and senior engineers to drive technical initiatives and enhance engineering practices.
• Develop and monitor key quality and team performance metrics, driving improvement and communicating progress.
• Manage the team's backlog, priorities, dependencies, and technical strategy in collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
• Facilitate team meetings, such as retrospectives.
• Stay updated on trends and technical developments in the team’s areas of focus.

Qualifications:

• Experience as an engineer in the games industry.
• Ability to translate company strategy into technical execution within the technical domain.
• Managerial experience with a solid understanding of team dynamics and maturity.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience with Agile methodologies.
• Experience in team capacity planning.
• Excellent personal communication skills and the ability to handle difficult conversations.
• Clear and effective verbal and written communication.
• Familiarity with modern development methodologies like CI, TBD, TDD, CD, and DORA.
