Our client is a leading mobile games studio in Berlin who seek a Monetisation Economy Designer. This is your chance to architect engaging, balanced economies that keep players coming back—not with pressure, but with purpose. You’ll blend psychology, analytics, and a love for board and card games to design experiences that are as rewarding as they are fun.
Your Mission
- Craft Virtual Economies – Design and evolve frameworks for in-game currencies, virtual goods, and progression systems that balance challenge, reward, and fun
- Launch and Level-Up – Post-release, you’ll monitor player behaviour and data to refine the economy, improve retention, and keep the gameplay fresh
- Communicate with Clarity – Create models, documentation, diagrams, and prototypes that clearly explain how systems work—and why they work
- Team Syncing – Collaborate with game designers, product leads, and developers to ensure the economic layer supports both gameplay and business goals
- Behavioral Design – Shape systems that encourage the right player behaviours while keeping monetization ethical and enjoyable
What You Bring to the Table
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in game economy or system design—especially in free-to-play (F2P) environments
- A strong foundation in economics, mathematics, statistics, or similar fields
- Deep knowledge of F2P monetization models and how to build them without sacrificing player happiness
- A passion for board and card games, with a solid grasp of what makes them strategic, addictive, and timeless
- Data fluency—you know your way around Excel, Google Sheets, and analytics, and can translate numbers into design improvements
- Excellent English communication skills—you’re clear, collaborative, and confident
