Our client is a leading mobile games community seeking a creative Systems Designer to join their Berlin team. You will play a key role in shaping high-level game concepts into complex models of game pace, balance, and economy from the conceptualization stage to the final polish. You will work onsite and must be eligible to work in the EU.

What will you be doing:

• Develop new end-to-end game systems, focusing on game economy, pace, and balance.
• Help lay the groundwork and create specifications for developers to build large sections of the game system.
• Define game specifications from initial concept to launch, including monetization and playability testing to maximize user retention.
• Provide clear feature documentation, diagrams, calculation models, analyses, wireframes, and prototypes.
• Take responsibility for the quality of game systems, analyse current game content, and drive meaningful changes or improvements to game design and monetization concepts.
• Design and map out game progression from both systems and monetization perspectives.

Who you are:

• At least 3+ years of proven successful work experience in game system design, balancing, pacing, and monetization strategies for F2P games.
• A completed university degree in game design, mathematics, psychology, or similar field.
• Detailed knowledge of the social gaming industry, free-to-play, and virtual goods business models on mobile platforms.
• High ability to understand player motivations and merge them with business needs.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Very good analytical gameplay balancing skills.
• Experience with production using a game engine such as Unity or a similar game engine is a plus.
• Fluency in English is required; knowledge of German is an advantage.
